Nanbantei

While waiting a couple of friends for a movie night, Eson, Nikki and I had our dinner here.
Nanbantei is actually not your typical Japanese resto where you'll eat the usual Beef tepanyaki, Chicken teriyaki, california roll, and tempura. Although they still have those in their menu but what is best is their specialty for grilled dishes and THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT! 5 STARS for food, taste, quality and freshness! And the meal is good for three people cost only 700pesos!

I would love to go back there over and over again!!

CYMA

OPANow that’s the one expression in Greek that almost everyone knows. It means "Hooray!" and you might just find yourself shouting it out after you dig into one of Cyma’s excellent Greek dishes.

Our love for Greek Cuisine only began when Eson and I discovered Cyma in Shangri-la. I am looking forward to go back on my next visit in Manila.

And so we ordered the following:

Saganaki Flaming-Cheese
Hear waiters cheer OPA!
Eson and I ordered this as one of our appetizers. In fact, it is one of their specialty! We loved the flaming Mozerella cheese topped with herbs.

Baby Clams Angel Hair
Pacific baby clams, with white wine, lemon, parsley, grated parmesan cheese and garlic butter
The taste was so heaven! It was really good! A MUST TRY!!

Baklava
Layered phyllo with walnuts and orange honey syrup.
I pleased Eson to order me a dessert. When I was still in the States, I remembered my friend sent us a big box full of Baklava. He told us it was one of those must try famous Greek desserts. At first, my brother and I couldn't understand the taste but after bits of savoring it, to our surprise, we almost finished the box!
The moment my dessert was served, I was disappointed because its appearance and taste were not the one I expected. Eson noticed that I was not happy and satisfied with my order. So he told me not to force myself if I don't feel like eating the whole thing. But I managed to eat half of it!
Nevertheless, I still love Greek cuisine.

CYMA is located at Level 6 Shangri-la Mall, Level 4 Trinoma Mall, and Greenbelt 2.

We LOVE Gloria Maris

On our way to Manila from Subic, I noticed it was past 12:00 noon already and we were still stuck in a heavy traffic along San Juan. It was pretty obvious we were all hungry and I could hear the continuous rumbling sound of my tummy! Suddenly, Eson decided to make a turn so we could have our lunch at Gloria Maris. Since the three of us; my dad, Eson and I, are a big fan of chinese food especially the food in Gloria Maris, it perfectly made our day!
Lucky Eson for he always keep coming back there every twice or thrice a month to satisfy his cravings but not for me, I only get the chance whenever I visit Manila. I envy him!
And so we ordered the following:

Shanghai Xiao Long Pao

Hakaw

Shark's Fin Siomai

Steamed Fish Fillet in Garlic Soy Sauce

Fried Spareribs with salt and pepper
and...

Yang Chow Fried Rice

A voracious eater like us definitely finished everything! (chuckle)

Chinese Food are always our favorite. I even crave for dim sum every twice a week. Luckily, in Davao, we also have really good chinese restaurants. My top list favorites are Ahfat, Emerald's Garden and Dimsum Diner.

Gloria Maris is located at Club Filipino Ave., Greenhills Shopping Complex, San Juan. (Recommended branch)

KITCHEN Experience

Eson and I had dinner last Sunday at Kitchen. The place was perfect with really good homey ambiance. It has dainty chandeliers and a very nice overhead lamps, they had long tables and benches in a wooden accent, and they had these oversized utensils that I mistakenly thought it was a serving spoon and a fork!, well, to find out more, they had big plates too and so it is! The lightning is soft which is very conducive to relaxing. I fell in love with the place.
And so we ordered..

Swirl Around. A mixed seafood pumpkin soup.
The funny thing was when Eson ordered it, I told myself, 'Why the heck did he order a pumpkin soup anyway?' I never liked and even tasted it ever since! But, to my surprise, it was really good like I almost finished half of it! I loved the seafood mixed as well. It gives a better taste!

Sun-Dried. A pesto penne topped with tuyo flakes.
By just looking at it, I was delighted to see the food but when I tasted the pesto, it was kinda tasteless. But the good thing was, it was paired with crunchy tuyo which was pretty salty too. It was just a perfect combination! I savored every bit of it.

(Imaginary Image)
Sand Bar. A pandan rice with tuna salpicao.
I loved the pandan rice so much! The smell was so enticing. Eson put saucy chopped garlic on top of it which tasted even more better! I kept reaching out to take spoonfuls of his food. (chuckle)

The food was really great, they have big servings on big platters and the price was also very reasonable.

Now I know why Eson loved the restaurant. In fact, he was the one who introduced me there. I would definitely come back to taste their other dishes.

Indeed, it was a delightful meal for both of us. We both loved our Kitchen experience. We left the restaurant with total tummy satisfaction.

Kitchen is located at Greenbelt 3, 1st level and Robinsons Galleria.
